During the year 2017, foreign trade turnover between Russia and the countries of the European Union increased 20.9% year-on-year to 231.2 bn euro compared to the same period of 2016. Compared to 2015 the turnover grew 10%.
According to Eurostat, import from EU countries into Russia increased 19.2% to 86.2 bn euro. Export from Russia to the European Union stood at 145 bn euro, up 27% compared to the previous year.
Among the major importers from the EU, Russia rated the fourth after the USA, China and Switzerland.
Among the largest exporters to the EU countries, Russia remains the third after China and the USA.
