Rail Export via Ports

  • According to Russian Railways, the loading of export designated cargo destined for Russian ports made 25.9 mn tons in January 2018 increasing 3.4% year-on-year.

    11.5 mn tons, 14.8% more than in January 2017, was designated for the North-West sea ports.

    The South region ports accounted for 6.3 mn tons, down 9.9% year-on-year.

    The volume loaded for the ports of the Russian Far East grew just 0.8% to make 8.1 mn tons.

    Almost half of the total, 44% is coal. Oil accounts for 29%, ferrous metals for 9%, fertilizers for 7%, and grains for 7% of the entire loading volume.
