According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, during 2017 Russia exported 84.4 thousand cars, 24.1% more than during 2016.
Truck export also grew, though not so significantly, up 2.1% to 14.6 thousand units.
In terms of value, car export increased 20.3% to $1.32 bn, while truck export declined 4.8% year-on-year to $335.9 mn.
Russia’s car import in 2017 grew slightly, just up 0.3% to 267.7 thousand units, but in terms of value it increased 11.1% to some $6.7 bn.
Truck import surged 56.7% to 31.8 thousand units physically and was up 93.9% to $1.99 bn in terms of value.
