In H1 2016, foreign trade value in the Baltic Customs region amounted to $12 bn compared to $14 bn for the same period of 2015. 131 thousand cargo declarations were documented compared to 138 thousand last year.
Goods were imported from 151 country compared to 154 countries in H1 2015, the major exporters being China (accounting for 16% of the entire import), Ecuador (16%), Germany (6%), and Brazil (5%). The top 5 positions in terms of customs payments in import are equipment (14%), fruit (10%), electric machinery and equipment (9%), polymer materials (7%), and vehicles (6%).
Export goods were destined for 128 countries compared to 134 countries in H1 2015. The major importers were Turkey (35%), Spain (10%), China (7%), and Germany (7%). In the export structure, ferrous metals account for 83% of the entire customs payments, timber and logs for 7% and aluminum and aluminum goods for another 7%.
There were 4.8 thousand ships engaged in foreign trade activities registered in the Baltic Customs region in H1 2016, compared to 5 thousand in H1 2015. This make 26 vessels daily on the average.
In H1 the Baltic Customs contributed over 169 bn rubles of tariffs and taxes to the federal budget compared to 152 bn in H1 2015, accounting for 67% of the entire payments in the North-West region, the same share as in H1 2015.
