33 Million Tons Carried via Northern Sea Route in 2020

  • Cargo traffic along the Northern Sea Route made 32.97 mn tons in 2020, almost 1.5 mn tons above the result achieved in 2019, when 31.5 mn tons was carried.

    The 2021 benchmark is set at 29 mn tons, a spokesperson for Rosatom State Corporation told SeaNews. The target of the Northern Sea Route project, for which Rosatom is responsible, is 80 mn tons in 2024.
