The recent decline in trading activity on Turkish destinations has finally influenced the market. It looks like the freight rise has been suspended for the time being and the market is moving sideward.
However, coal and other destinations are still supporting the present freight rates and the market is expected to continue rising once Turkish cargoes are back on market again, according to Rufco shipbrokers.
Freight rates to the Sea of Marmara from Rostov make $29-30 per ton.
Freight rates from Rostov to SE Black Sea ports are $27-28 per ton.
Nothing new is happening in the Caspian Sea market. The number of open cargoes is decreasing and many cargoes quoted over the market are only at budgeting stage. Some of the Russian flagged owners are repositioning their tonnage to the Azov segment.
The current freight rates from Astrakhan to Iran make $26-28 per ton.
