First Ever Container Transit from China to Europe by Northern Sea Route Completed

  • The first ever container vessel transiting the Northern Sea Route from China to Europe has arrived at the port of destination, the RF Ministry of transport reports.

    The ship set sail from the port of loading in China on September 23 and completed her journey in just 20 days at Felixstowe, Great Britain delivering almost 25 thousand tons of cargo. The traditional route via the Suez would have taken her more than a month.
