The total container throughput via the Baltic basin ports in November 2023 surged 2.3-fold year-on-year making 117.5 thousand TEU.
According to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service, export was up 2.1-fold to 49.7 thousand TEU, import up 2.3-fold to 45.1 thousand TEU. Cabotage made 22.7 thousand TEU up 3.2-fold. Transit was non-existent in November 2023.
The share of the Baltic basin in the total container traffic via all the Russian seaports in November 2023 amounted to 29.3%.
Laden container traffic made 83.4 thousand TEU, up 3.1-fold year-on-year. 15.5% of this volume, or 13 thousand TEU was reefer containers, and 84.5% or 70.5 thousand TEU was dry containers.
Imports made 51.4% or 42.9 thousand TEU of all the laden containers, exports 31.5% (26.3 thousand TEU), and cabotage 17.1% (14.3 thousand TEU).
Empty container traffic grew by 37.5% to make 31.4 thousand TEU.
The Big Port of St. Petersburg accounted for 86.2% (101.3 thousand TEU) of the aggregate container throughput via the Russian Baltic basin sea ports in November 2023. Kaliningrad handled 13.8% (16.2 thousand TEU), and Ust-Luga 0.02% (23 TEU) of the total.
