The Elga Port marine terminal has been included into the boundaries of the port of Vanino by Order No2773-r of the Government of the Russian Federation, the Okhotsk Sea and Strait of Tartary Port Authority reports.
Elga Port currently under construction will specialize on handling coal mined at the Elga coal field that will be delivered to the port by rail.
The terminal capacity will make 30 mn tons per annum. The first bulker is expected to berth at Elga Port in early 2025. After the construction is completed, the port will be capable of handling up to four 85,000 dwt bulkers simultaneously.
The terminal is part of the Far Easter logistics cluster developed by Elsea. The terminal project does not use money from the federal budget.
