FESCO Transport Group is launching an intermodal container service from Southeast and East Asia to Moscow via Dalian and Zabaikalsk, the group said in a statement.
Containers will be shipped by sea from South Korea, Thailand and Viet Nam to Dalian or from other countries with transshipment via Ho Shi Minh in Viet Nam.
Form Dalian, the containers will be trucked to the railways station of Shenyang, loaded onto fitting platforms and carried by rail to the China – Russia border.
There, at the Zabaikalsk border crossing checkpoint, customs formalities will be completed, after which the trains will proceed to the station of Vorsino in Moscow region.
Trains will run from Shenyang on a weekly basis. The estimated transit time will make some 30-35 days depending on the port of loading in Asia.
The services is designed mainly for car parts, household appliances, food products, and consumer goods.
The first shipment consisting of containers laden with car tyres is planned to be loaded in the port of Laen Chabang in Thailand on October 1.
