TransContainer has launched a new regular domestic rail container service from Moscow region to Omsk in Siberia. The service is aimed for food products.
The train is routed from the station of Kupavna in Moscow region to the Omsk-Vostochny railway station in West Siberia. The transit time is three days. The estimated service frequency is three trains a month.
The first train carrying 40 TEU left Moscow region at the end of August.
According to Alexander Podylov, TransContainer VP, Commerce, the advantage of the new service is short transit time due to the tight schedule and no sorting operations along the route.
