Global Ports and Newnew Shipping Agree to Develop Container Shipping between Russia and China

  • Global Ports and China’s Hainan Yangpu Newnew Shipping Co in cooperation with cargo agency Torgmoll have agreed to develop container shipping between Russia, APR and Middle East ports. A memorandum of understanding on the subsect was signed during the Eastern Economic Forum this week in Vladivostok, Global Ports said in a statement.

    The parties agreed to jointly develop container shipping y sea using Global Ports’ terminals VSC in the Russian Far East and FCT in St. Petersburg and to study the prospects of using Ust-Luga Containr Terminal in Ust-Luga and Petrolesport in St. Petersburg.

    Hainan Yangpu Newnew Shipping has been offering a regular service between Global Ports’ terminals and Shanghai, Ningbo, Qingdao, and Nansha since the start of 2023.

    In summer 2023, Newnew Shipping was the first international shipping line to deliver containers from St. Petersburg to China by the Northern Sea Route.
