Grain Terminal Inaugurated in Vyssotsk

  • September 8, 2023 a ceremony to launch the first large grain terminal in Northwest Russia was held in Vyssotsk, Russian Railways said in a statement. The facility is designed to handle all kinds of grains and has a capacity of 4 mn tons per annum.

    Russian Railways have invested 853 mn rubles ($9.13 mn) into the Vyssotsk railway station development at the first stage of the project.

    ‘Thanks to the cooperation between Port Vyssotsky and Russian Railways, we have been able to complete the reconstruction of port and railway infrastructure and now can offer new logistics for shippers of one of the most popular commodities,’ Oleg Belozyorov, CEO of Russian Railways, said.

    Russian Railways and Port Vyssotsky continue to work on expanding the capacity of the grain terminal. Since the year-start, the railcar handling capacity of the station was increased from 212 to 236 and then to 286 units a day.
