8 Kilos of Cocaine Seized on Board Vessel in St. Petersburg

  • The Baltic Customs and the Northwest Operative Customs in cooperation with the St. Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast division of the Federal Security Service have seized 8 kilograms of cocaine on board a vessel that arrived to the port of St. Petersburg from Latvia.

    The estimated cost of such amount of drug may amount to some 100 mn rubles ($1.07 mn) in the black market.

    A criminal case under paragraph “b” of part 4 of article 229.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (smuggling of drugs on a particularly large scale) has been initiated.

    Investigation is underway.
