The Board of Russia’s United Shipbuilding Corporation has unanimously elected Andrey Kostin its chairman, the company said in a statement. The Board meeting was held on August 25, 2023.
Kostin has been President and Chairman of the Board of VTB Bank since 2002. Prior to this he was head of Vneshtorgbank, and before that held top positions with the National Reserve Bank and Imperial Bank.
During 1979-1993, Kostin was in diplomatic service working with the USSR Consulate General in Australia and then with the USSR Embassy to the Great Britain.
Earlier this month, RF President Vladimir Putin supported the transfer of the state-owned stake in the United Shipbuilding Corporation to VTB Bank.
On August 23, another VTB top manager, Andrey Puchkov, who was Deputy President of the bank, was appointed Managing Director of USC.
