Rusagrotrans, par of Demetra Holding, during the first half of 2023, carried a record-breaking volume of export designated grain, more than 5 mn tons.
The volume of agri products carried in the company-operated was the highest Rusagrotrans has carried during the past 11 years amounting to 7.9 mn tons.
The record was set due to the export grain traffic to the terminals in Novorossiysk, which made 3.8 mn tons, and Taman (0.27 mn tons), as well as Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan (0.36 mn tons).
Among the growing destinations is the port of Vyssotsk in the Baltic, where 138 thousand tons of wheat from Russia and Kazakhstan was carried since April 2023.
Domestic grain and other agri products traffic made 1.3 mn tons in January-June 2023, below the previous years’ results. The reason for that is that due to the good harvest many regions use their own grain and have not need to have it carried by rail from remote regions.
More than 64% of domestic grain traffic carried by Rusagrotrans was designated for grain processing companies in Central and Northwest Russia, some 17% was designated for the Volga region, and 95 for the Urals.
