FESCO Considers Building Container Terminal in Astrakhan

  • FESCO Board Chairman Andrey Severilov met Astrakhan Oblast Governor Igor Babushkin to discuss developing a container terminal in the region, FESCO said in a statement.

    The parties discussed various aspects and prospects of developing a state of the art container terminal in the region to handle the growing freight traffic transported by the North-South international transport corridor.

    A terminal complex would make it possible for FESCO to offer logistics services using the North-South transport corridor, which would stimulate the development of the region’s economic and trade potential.

    During his visit to Astrakhan Severilov also visited Astrakhan-based Armada Port and ASPO Yard to get familiarized with the transport and logistics infrastructure of the region.

    Severilov said, the Group is interested in developing a state of the art container terminal in the Caspian and believes that Astrakhan region has a large potential and an important role in developing the North-South international transport corridor.
