The Government of the Russian Federation has extended the ban on using vehicles registered in the so-called ‘unfriendly’ countries in international road transportation across the territory of the Russian Federation till December 30, 2023, the RF Ministry of transport reports.
The Government has also banned Polish truckers from operating on the territory of Russia, a suggestion earlier voted for by the RF Stated Duma.
The ban does not apply to critically important goods like pharmaceuticals and medical goods. Also, the ban does not apply to goods designated for Kaliningrad Oblast.
The new regulation also puts additional limits on the list of goods exempt from the ban.
Order No 1728 introducing the ban on using trucks registered in unfriendly countries was signed by RF Premier Mikhail Mishustin on September 30, 2022 and entered into force on October 10, 2022.
