Amur Shipyard Lays Pontoon Dock

  • A Design 65911 launching pontoon dock has been laid at Amur Shipyard, the yard said in a statement. The name for the dock was chosen in a contest, the facility will be named “Amurets”.

    The new launching dock will be used to transport ships under construction and repair from the factory’s dry slipways to the pre-building pier, and also to launch vessels.

    “In addition to gaining technological independence and speeding up construction process, we hope to expand the range of products in future by including more large-capacity vessel orders to our portfolio,” said Mikhail Borovsky, director general of the shipyard.

    According to United Shipbuilding Corporation, Amur Shipyard is equipped to build vessels with a launching weight up to 10,000 tons, LOA up to 150 m and beam up to 20 m.
