RF Minister of nature Alexandr Kozlov suggested getting back to the Khasan-Rajin project in his recent meeting with North Korea’s minister of foreign trade, the press office of the Russian ministry has reported.
The parties discussed the negotiation currently underway between Russian and North Korean companies on the options to supply grain to Democratic People’s Republic of Korea this year. One more promising option for cooperation is supplying meat products.
A.Kozlov also noted the importance of developing a large transport and transit hub on the basis of the North Korean port of Rajin. Implementing this project will allow of increasing freight traffic between the two countries and create conditions for expanding cooperation and implementing common projects.
‘I believe it is important to take measures to reanimate the common strategic project Khasan-Rajin. I suggest studying the possibility of using the port of Rajin to handle not only imported coal, but other cargo as wells,’ the RF Ministry of Nature press office quotes A.Kozlov as saying.
