Rostov Port, which is accordance with an agreement with the regional authorities, is moving to the left bank of the Don River, has announced the sale of its Cargo Area 3. The price is 600 mn rubles ($7.3 mn).
Cargo Area 3 is used to handle general cargo and dry bulk, metals scrap and metal products. The territory of the Cargo Area covers 2.43 ha, with 14.4 thousand square meters of open air warehousing facilities and 250 square meters of roofed warehouses.
The quay is 265 meters long with two berths equipped with four cranes. There is a grain handling facility for unloading grain from trucks on the territory of Area 3. The local rails leading to the station of Zarechnaya are 0.2 km long.
In May 2022, the Governor of Rostov Oblast signed an order to move the port facilities from Cargo Area 1 to the Zarechnaya industrial zone. The port is to transfer to the city of Rostov the territory of Cargo Area 1 it currently owns in exchange for another five plots that it will rent from the city.
Earlier it was reported that the project is to be completed in 2026. Under the project, during 2022-2023 a 300 m long quayside, two state of the art warehouses and two railway branches are to be built at Stage 1.
At Stage 2 a 433 m long berth, cargo handling areas and the engineering infrastructure are to be built during 2024-2025.
