FESCO Resumes Seasonal Service from China to Pevek

  • Starting July FESCO Transport Group is resuming its seasonal FESCO Arctic Line from Yantai and Tianjin in China to Pevek in the Russian Arctic, the Group said in a statement quoting FESCO Board Chairman Andrey Severilov as saying at the Russia-China session at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

This year, three vessels will be deployed in the service, while last year FESCO operated two vessels on its FESCO Arctic Line.

The group also intends to increase capacity in its deep sea Baltorient Line from China to St. Petersburg that it launched in March this year.

‘There are two vessels deployed in the service, by the end of the year we plan to acquire another three or four container ships,’ A.Severilov said.

He noted that the trade relations with Korea and Japan are stagnating, while the business with Chinese parties is growing.

‘To cater for the growing freight traffic the Group is expanding cooperation with Chinese companies to build new districution centers and terminals together,’ he said.
