The State Duma of the Russian Federation has taken a unanimous decision that Polish truckers should be banned from operating on the territory of Russia.
At its plenary session, the State Duma adopted a resolution on addressing the RF Government with a request to take measures in respect of Polish road carriers to retaliate for the hostile policy of the Polish authorities.
The deputies insist that reciprocal measures should be implemented in respect of the Polish Republic to retaliate against the so-called fifth package of sanctions implemented by the EU bodies.
The deputies believe that Polish road haluiers should not be allowed to operate on the territory of the Russian Federation, they may be allowed to move to the nearest customs terminal only where they can unload their cargo or leave their trailers, which will be transported to the destination by Russian carriers.
The State Duma also suggested that the Government forbid selling fuel to Polish carriers for prices set for Russian consumers insisting that they should pay the European prices if they buy fuel in Russia.
These measures are expected to lead to a loss of some 8.5 bn euro the Polish earn at the expense of Russia.
