Multimodal transport operator Ruscon, part of Delo Group, and Regional Industrial Parks Management Company have signed a letter of intent at the 27th TransRussia International Exhibition of Transport and Logistics Services, Warehouse Equipment and Technologies.
The document was signed by Andrey Chernyshev, First Vice-President of Ruscon, and Vadim Korovin, Managing Director of Regional Industrial Parks Managing Company.
The letter of intent provides for cooperation between the parties to ensure conditions for the effective implementation of the container terminal investment project at the Orlovka railway station as well as to coordinate activities in the sphere of transport and logistics services using all modes of transport on the territory of the industrial park.
Commenting on the agreement, Andrey Chernyshev said: “Volgograd boasts dynamically developing key sectors of the economy, such as industry and agriculture, and acts as a convergence point of transport routes from East to West and from North to South. By establishing our own container terminal in the Orlovka Industrial Park, we are increasing our presence in the region and contributing to the development of the International North–South Transport Corridor.
Ruscon is implementing its own railway container terminal project at the Orlovka station in Volgograd. The construction of the terminal with an annual capacity of 30,000 TEU started from scratch in mid-2021.
