Commercial Port of Vladivostok has put into operation a new container 13,500 square meter container yard, the port said in its social media account.
Previously, the territory at Berth 8 was used to store various types of cargo. The additional space for containers will allow of increasing the port’s container storage space by 5%, or by 1,113 TEU.
Modernizing warehousing space is part of the port’s development strategy adopted by the Company Board. It includes developing new container yards, acquiring new equipment, and modernizing the IT infrastructure.
According to Nikolay Yeremeev, the newly appointed Managing Director of Commercial Port of Vladivostok, the Strategy envisages expanding container storage capacity by 20% and acquiring more than 170 various equipment units.
