Viktor Chertov was appointed Managing Director of Taganrog Commercial Sea Port w.e.f. April 3, the port said in a statement. He replaced Sergey Naryshkin who was at the helm of the company since 2006.
Chertov served for more than 20 years with Russia’s Northern Navy, then worked for commercial stevedoring companies in the Arctic region, one of his appointments being head of the technical and operations management with Kommandit Service, an oil product terminal in the Murmansk region.
In his new position, Chertov will concentrate on implementing the strategic programme aimed at developing the port infrastructure, modernizing the existing and building new port facilities and developing investment projects that is expected to result in expanding the nomenclature of commodities handed and increasing the throughput.
The port management expects that implementing the programme will allow of achieving an annual throughput of 2 mn tons by 2025.
