Vasiliy Golubev, Governor of Rostov Oblast, discussed development of the cooperation agreement with his counterpart from Baria Vungtau province and Vietnamese businesses while visiting Viet Nam with a delegation of the RF Federation Council, the Governor’s press office reports.
One of the potential cooperation fields may be establishing a shipping connection between the ports of Azov in Russia and Haiphong in Viet Nam for export and import cargo traffic basing on the DEEP C Russia-Viet Nam industrial park successfully operating in Haiphong, he said.
Golubev noted that Rostov Oblast has a large logistics potential being part of the transcontinental North-South transport corridor, while the sea port of Azov makes a link between Russia and Asian countries.
The logistics corridor suggested will help intensify deliveries of grain, vegetable oil, mineral fertilizers, equipment and components for the oil sector, pipes, consumer goods and seafood.
Golubev also said cooperation in the sphere of renewable energy could be of mutual benefit.
The parties signed a protocol confirming the intention to conclude an agreement between Rostov Oblast and Bari Vungtau Province.
