RZD Lolgistics has launched a regular block train using the eastward branch of the North- South international transport corridor. The train carrying 31 40’ unit departed from the railway station of Chekhov in Moscow region on October 24.
The train is routed via the territory of Kazakhstan to the railway station of Sarakhs in Turkmenistan where the containers will be loaded onto 1435 mm gauge rolling stock to be transported to the port of Bandar-Abbas in Iran to be shipped to final destinations .
The train entered the territory of Kazakhstan on October 27 and is expected to arrive at the station of Sarakhs on the border between Turkmenistan and Iran on October 31.
On the return trip, the train ill carry goods designated for customers in Russia.
According to RZD Logistics, the service will be operated on a regular basis with a monthly frequency to be increased in future.
