Sovfracht Launches Subsidized Service to Kaliningrad

  • On October 7, 2022, the RF Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport registered Express sea freight line between St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad to be operated by Sovfracht, the company said in a statement.

The service will start in early November with three vessels to be deployed, with a cargo capacity of some 2,400 tons of general cargo and solid bulk each.

The service will call daily at Bronka in St. Petersburg and at Kaliningrad Commercial Sea Port in Kaliningrad weekly with a guaranteed delivery time, Sovfracht said.

The service was launched under the federal programme of subsidizing shipping by sea cargo sanctioned by the EU to and from Kaliningrad to avoid land transit via Lithuania.
