An agreement to build a river port and a customs logistics terminal in the Skovorodino District in Amur Oblast was concluded during the Eastern Economic Forum held in September in Vladivostok.
According to Starway Group, by preliminary estimation the project is going to cost some 4 bn rubles ($67 mn) and will create up to 200 new jobs.
The project branded Jalinda envisages developing a river port and customs logistics terminal on the Russia – China border with an initial capacity of up to 2 mn tons annually potentially to be expanded up to 10 mn tons annually, if the railway connection is modernized.
The new facilities will create conditions for increasing trade turnover between China and Amur Oblast and Sakha Republic.
