During January-July 2022, the trade turnover between Russia and the countries of the European Union increased by 30.1% year-on-year up to 171.4 bn euro.
According to Eurostat, while import from EU countries into Russia was down 33% during the 7 months of 2022 to 34.1 bn euro, export from Russia to the European Union surged by 69.9% up to 137.3 bn euro.
In July 2022, European exports to Russia declined by 46.9% down to 4.3 bn euro, while Russian exports to the EU, on the contrary, grew by 25.2% to 16.9 bn euro.
In January-July 2022 Russia rated the eighth largest importer from the EU. Among the largest exporters to the EU countries, Russia ranked the third after China and the USA.
