Additional Financing for Building Ro-Pax for Russian Far East

  • The RF Government has allowed to increase the government contract price for building a ro-pax vessel to operate in the Russian Far East from 3.1 bn rubles ($51.5 mn) to 3.8 bn rubles ($63.1 mn). According to the RF Government press office, a decree to this effect was signed on August 10, 2022.

    The vessel will be deployed between the ports of the Kamchatka Peninsula, the island of Sakhalin, the Magadan region, the Primorsky Kray and the Kuril Isles. It will have a passenger capacity of 150 and will also carry cars, trucks, buses and containers.

    The vessel is expected to be launched in October 2022, with sea trials scheduled for late February 2023 and delivery for July 2023.
