According to the Association of European Businesses (AEB) statistics, the sales of new cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia during January-March 2022 declined by 28.4% year-on-year and to make 277.3 thousand units.
In March alone, 55.1 thousand cars and light commercial vehicles were sold, down 62.9% year-on-year and down 51.8% month-on-month, Association of European Businesses has reported.
Lada remained the leader of the Russian car market in March 2022 with its sales down 63.6% year-on-year to 12.3 thousand units.
KIA rated the second with its sales declining 68.4% year-on-year to 6.3 thousand cars.
Hyundai was the third with its sales making 4.9 thousand cars, down 68.4% year-on-year.
Renault ranked the fourth with its sales drop by 65.1% year-on-year down to 4.1 thousand units.
Toyota ranked the fifth with its sales down 68.6% year-on-year to 3.2 thousand units.
Most of the brands sold in the Russian market saw their sales decline in March.
The few brands that increased their sales were Isuzu commercial vehicles (up 5.7-fold), Chevrolet (up 91%) and Cheryexeed (up 63%).
