According to the RF Federal Customs Service, Russia’s crude oil export in January-September 2021 was down 4.6% year-on-year to more than 171.4 mn tons. In terms of value, crude oil export increased by 42.6% year-on-year making $77.9 bn.
Oil products export grew by 2.8% up to 109.9 mn tons. In terms of value it was up 44.8% to $50.3 bn.
Diesel fuel export made 37.5 mn tons in terms of tonnage (-8.3% year-on-year) and $18.6 bn in terms of value (+20.8%).
Petrol export in January-September 2021 decreased by 26.5% year-on-year down to more than 3.5 bn tons worth $1.9 bn, up 4.5%. The Russian Government was considering limiting petrol export, however, it declined without any special regulatory measures.
In September, Russia exported 19.5 mn tons of crude oil, up 24.7% year-on-year and up 24.5% month-on-month. In terms of value, crude oil export grew by 84.7 year-on-year and by 1.5% month-on-month to exceed $9.9 bn.
Oil products export in September grew by 24.7% year-on-year and by 24.5% month-on-month to make 13.7 mn tons worth $7.1 bn (up 2.1-fold year-on-year and up 25% month-on-month).
Diesel fuel export made 4.4 mn tons (up 5.9% year-on-year and up 20.4% month-on-month) worth $2.5 bn (up 84.7% year-on-year and up 20.7% month-on-month).
Car petrol export in September declined by 50.7% year-on-year and by 24.1% month-on-month making 191 thousand tons worth $130.5 mn, up 17.5% year-on-year and down 23.9% month-on-month.
Natural gas export in January-September 2021 amounted to 156.8 bn cbm, up 12.1% year-on-year. In terms of value, it doubled to make $33.3 bn.
Liquefied natural gas export during January-September 2021 decreased by 3.1% year-on-year down to 53.3 mn cbm due to the maintenance stopover of Russia’s two LNG plants, its value was down 10.6% to $5.3 bn.
In September, natural gas export made 15.3 bn cbm, down 4.4% year-on-year and down 8.9% month-on-month. Value-wise, it was worth some $4.7 bn, up 2.4-fold year-on-year and down 0.7% month-on-month.
LNG export in September amounted to 4.2 mn cbm, down 36.4% year-on-year and down 8.7% month-on-month. In terms of value, LNG export increased by 13% year-on-year and by 14.5% month-on-month making $504.1 mn.
