The Presidium of the RF Government Commission on transport has approved in general of the draft Transport Strategy – 2035 at its recent meeting chaired by RF First Deputy Premier Andrey Belousov.
The new edition of the transport strategy is based on two pillars, one providing for developing a base transport network configured in accordance with the demographic, economic, social and other conditions, and the other ensuring efficient passenger and freight transportation within this network.
The RF Ministry of Transport is commissioned to define the methods and mechanisms to implement the Strategy.
At present, the draft version is being improved and finalized to reflect the most recent social and economic development scenarios as well as foreign trade forecasts, investment assessment and climate issues.
The finalized draft is to be submitted to the Presidium of the RF State Council.
