According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, during January-July 2021 Russia imported 32.5 mn pairs of leather footwear, up 5.9% year-on-year. In terms of value, leather footwear import increased by 18.2% year-on-year up to $835.2 mn.
Clothes import into Russia grew by 18.3% up to more than $4.4 bn.
Cotton fabric import during the first 7 months was up 31.2% year-on-year to 216.7 mn sqm. In terms of value it increased by 38.9% up to $123.6 mn.
Cotton fabric export from Russia declined by 36.5% year-on-year down to 54.6 mn sqm worth $30.7 mn, up 2%.
In July, leather footwear import grew by 31.8% year-on-year and by 61.1% month-on-month making 5.8 mn pairs worth $168.5 mn, up 43% year-on-year and up 69.5% month-on-month.
Clothes import was up 1.7% year-on-year and up 12.5% month-on-month to $779.3 mn.
Cotton fabric import in July grew by 26.3% year-on-year and decreased by 4.6% month-on-month amounting to more than 30.2 mn sqm. In terms of value, it made $18.9 mn, up 47.7% year-on-year and up 5.6% month-on-month.
Cotton fabric export dropped by 81% year-on-year and declined by 12.5% month-on-month to make over 7.1 mn sqm. In terms of value, it made $3.9 mn, down 7.1% year-on-year and down 17% month-on-month.
