During a morning briefing at Gazprom, Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, announced that the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline was fully completed at 8:45 am (Moscow time) this morning.
Gazprom intends to start supplying gas using the Nord Stream 2 pipeline as of October 1. The company estimates thatsome 5.6 bn cubicmeters of gas can be transmitted by the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline by theend pf 2021.
The total capacity o the two strings of Nord Stream 2 is 55 bn cubic meters of gas per year. The aggregated design capacity of Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 is therefore 110 bn cubic meters of gas per year.
