RusHydro, Sollers Group and Sibur have signed an agreement on cooperation in logistics and warehousing services development om the Russian Far East.
The document signed at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok provides for developing a container terminal with a capacity of up to 3,000 TEU on the territory that is going to become vacant after the modernization of Heat Station 2 in Vladivostok.
The terminal will specialize on handling export designated containers with goods made by Russian manufacturers delivered by rail to the Russian Far East to be shipped by sea to consumers in the APR.
SIBUR, which accounts for some 70% of the aggregate container traffic via Vladivostok port, will be the major customer of the new facility, Sollers said in a statement.
RusHydro and Sollers are to establish a 50:50 joint venture to develop the project. The partners intend to complete the construction of the terminal in December 2022.
