On August 7, Sovcomflot-operated Arctic shuttle tanker “Timofey Guzhenko” loaded the 80,000,000th ton of crude LUKoil’s Arctic terminal of Varandey.
According to Sovcomflot, it was the 1159th shipment since the terminal started operating in June 2008.
Sovcomflot deploys three Arctic shuttle tankers, the 70,000 dwt Panamax units “Vasily Dinkov”, “Kapitan Gotsky” and “Timofey Guzhenko” to carry oil from Varandey to the roadstead transshipment facility in Murmansk.
All the three vessels fly the Russian flagged, manned by Russian crews and registered in St. Petersburg.
The polar marine terminal Varandey in the Barents Sea was registered in the Guinness Book of records as the world’s northernmost oil terminal operating round-the-year.
