First Block Train Carries Containers Delivered from China by Amur River to Tula

  • The first block train to carry containers with Chinese goods that were barged to the Russian Far East by the Amur River has left from Khabarovsk to Tula in Central Russia.

The multimodal delivery scheme was organized to supply car parts for Haval’s car making plant in Tula region. Containers are barged from China to the river port of Khabarovsk in Russia and then carried to the destination by rail.

The first block train consists of 68 containers.

Using barges is expected to optimize transit time from China taking into account congestion in sea ports in China and at land-based China-Russia border crossing points in the Russian Far East.
