According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, in January-April 2021 fresh and frozen meat import was down 17.9% to 77.6 thousand tons. Fresh and frozen poultry import decreased by 7.5% down to 66.2 thousand tons.
Fish import grew by 11.5% up to 144.9 thousand tons. Canned meat and meat specialties import declined by 3.1% making 6.2 thousand tons.
Milk and condensed cream import was down 17.1% to 39.7 thousand tons. Butter import decreased by 1.7% amounting to 46.8 thousand tons. Cheese import grew by 23.2% up to 114 thousand tons.
Palm oil import was up 20.4% to 360.4 thousand tons. Vegetable oil import surged 2.5-fold to make 500 tons.
Citrus fruit import was up 1.3% to 683.7 thousand tons. Banana import decreased by 8.6% down to 532.3 thousand tons, and apple import grew by 1.2% up to 438.7 thousand tons.
Raw sugar import increased by 83.3% up to 3.3 thousand tons, white sugar import was down 27.1% to 39 thousand tons.
Coffee import in January-April grew by 4.1% up to 79 thousand tons, and tea import by 6.2% up to 53 thousand tons.
In April, the following categories demonstrated a year-on-year decline in import volumes: bananas (down 2% to 140.7 thousand tons), apples (down 4% to 132.3 thousand tons), fresh and frozen meat (down 14.9% to 20 thousand tons), white sugar (down 41.3% to 10.1 thousand tons), milk and condensed cream (down 4.5% to 10.5 thousand tons), and butter (down 2% to 9.8 thousand tons).
Month-on-month, the import of apples, palm oil, cheese, fresh and frozen meat, and raw sugar import grew.
In April, coffee import decreased by 15.7% year-on-year and by 19.3% month-on-month to make 16.7 thousand tons. Tea import was up 6.5% year-on-year and down 24.6% month-on-month to 13.2 thousand tons.
