According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, during January-April 2021 Russia imported 20.8 mn pairs of leather footwear, down 5.5% year-on-year. In terms of value, leather footwear import increased by 1% year-on-year down to $500 mn.
Clothes import into Russia grew by 18% up to $2.3 bn.
Cotton fabric import during the first 4 months increased by 29.9% up to 124.8 sq m worth $69.3 mn, up 28.6% year-on-year.
Cotton fabric export from Russia was down 8.9% to 33.4 mn sq m worth $18.5 mn, up 12.8% year-on-year.
In April, leather footwear import grew by 59.1% year-on-year and declined by 46.2% month-on-month making 3.5 mn pairs worth $89.5 mn, up 86.1% year-on-year and down 40.8% month-on-month.
Clothes import was up 2.2-fold year-on-year and down 9.9% month-on-month to $614.5 mn.
Cotton fabric import in April grew by 85% year-on-year and declined by 15.3% month-on-month amounting to 32.5 mn sq m worth $18.1 mn, up 90.5% year-on-year and down 18.1% month-on-month.
Cotton fabric export made $5.5 mn, up 89.7% year-on-year and down 16.7% month-on-month.
