The trade turnover between Russia and the EU has shown a positive trend for the first time since the beginning of the year, but has not reached the level of 2019 so far.
During January-April 2021, the trade turnover between Russia and the countries of the European Union increased by 10.4% year-on-year up to 70.3 bn euro.
According to Eurostat, import from EU countries into Russia was up 7.3% during the 4 months 2021 making 27.8 bn euro. Export from Russia to the European Union grew by 12.4% up to 42.5 bn euro.
Russia rates the fifth among the largest importers from the EU after the USA, the United Kingdom, China and Switzerland.
Among the largest exporters to the EU countries, Russia ranks the third after China and the USA.
