In January-April 2021, the sea ports of Ukraine handled 320.4 thousand TEU, down 10.4% year-on-year.
By way of comparison, Russia’s largest Black Sea port of Novorossiysk during January-April 2021 handled 312 thousand TEU growing by 7.6%.
According to the Ukrainian Sea Ports Administration, export container traffic via the Ukrainian sea ports made 155.1 thousand TEU, down 7.8% year-on-year.
Import decreased by 10.9% down to 154.5 thousand TEU. Transit container traffic via the major Ukrainian ports declined by 32.9% down to 10.8 thousand TEU. Cabotage made 2 TEU.
Odessa handled 210.6 thousand TEU in January-April, down 3.6% year-on-year.
Container traffic via Pivdenniy (formerly, Yuzhny) decreased by 24.8% to make 64.3 thousand TEU.
Chernomorsk (formerly known as Ilyichevsk) handled 45.5 thousand TEU, down 14.9% year-on-year.
Olvia Specialized Sea Port (formerly, Oktyabrsk) handled 15 TEU, down 94.3% year-on-year.
