Mechel-Trans operated Posyet Commercial Port has put into operation stage 2 of specialized dust suppression equipment at its open coal storage facility.
The second stage consists of seven automatic sprinklers that function as natural rain using up to 96 cubic meters of water an hour. In combination with snowmaking machines implemented earlier the sprinklers are to provide humidification preventing dust formation.
The dust suppression system is operated in a remote mode from the central control tower, with special software synchronizing handling equipment operations with sprinklers.
