Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex in the Russian Far East has taken delivery of unique multiveller transporters. The four units with a carrying capacity ranging between 150 and 650 tons will be used in Russia’s largest dry dock and at the yard’s second phase facilities.
The multiveller transporters are multi-axis wheeled platforms with driver’s cabins on both ends that can be operated remotely. Each axis can turn 180 degrees, which allows of high maneuverability when transporting heavylift cargo.
The multivellers will be used to carry ship sections from workshops to paintrooms and from paintrooms to the fitting-out quay. The aggregates can operate in a twin mode to carry up to 1,300 tons.
Prior to this, Zvezda took delivery of wheeled self-propelled modular transporters with a carrying capacity of 3,300 tons for moving large ship sections.
