Seversral Ships Large-Diameter Pipes to South America

  • Severstal, Russia’s and world’s major steelmaker, has shipped the first lot of large-diameter pipes to South America. The shipment was loaded on board a vessel in St. Petersburg to be transported to the port of Ilo in Peru, the company said.

The API 5L PSL 1 standard pipes made at Severstal’s Izhora Pipe Plant in St. Petersburg from Х52 steel have a diameter of 762 mm and a wall 9.53 mm thick.

South America is a new export destination for the company, which views it as a promising market along European countries, Middle East and North Africa.
