According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, in January 2021, Russia’s car export was down 9.6% year-on-year and down 30.9% month-on-month to make 4.7 thousand units. Truck export made 600 units, same as in January last year, but down 62.5% month-on-month.
In terms of value, car export decreased by 6.9% year-on-year and by 45.6% month-on-month to make $63 mn in January 2021. Truck export was worth $18.8 mn, up 32.4% year-on-year, but down 58.9% month-on-month.
In January 2021, car import surged by 80.8% year-on-year and declined by 38.1% month-on-month down to 17.9 thousand units. Truck import made 1.9 thousand units, up 72.7% year-on-year, but down 45.7% month-on-month.
In terms of value, car import in January 2021 increased by 61.6% year-on-year and decreased by 36.4% month-on-month to make $430 mn. Truck export was worth $107.2 mn, up 31.7% year-on-year and down 34.9% month-on-month.
