According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, Russia’s car import during 2020 was down 19.6% year-on-year to 243.2 thousand units. Truck import during the past year declined by 19.4% year-on-year down to 24.1 thousand units.
In terms of value, car import during 2020 decreased by 31.4% year-on-year down to $5.4 bn. Truck import dropped by 38.1% down to $1.2 bn.
In December 2020, car import was up 9.9% year-on-year and up 0.3% month-on-month to make 28.9 thousand units. Truck import made 3.5 thousand units, up 6.1% year-on-year and up 20.7% month-on-month.
In terms of value, car import decreased by 4.7% year-on-year and by 1.1% month-on-month to make $676.1 mn in December. Truck import was worth $164 mn, down 10% year-on-year and up 33.3% month-on-month.
Russia’s car export in 2020 was down 40.6% year-on-year to 65 thousand units. Truck export declined by 16.4% making 12.2 thousand units.
In terms of value, car export was down 38.5% year-on-year amounting to $986.9 mn. Truck export decreased by 18.2% to make $324 mn.
In December, car export declined by 12.8% year-on-year and grew by 1.5% month-on-month to 6.8 thousand units. Truck export made 1.6 thousand units, down 15.8% year-on-year and up 33.3% month-on-month.
In terms of value, car export in December decreased by 7.7% year-on-year and grew by 16.9% month-on-month to make $115.8 mn. Truck export was worth $45.8 mn, down 28.8% year-on-year and up 40.5% month-on-month.
