TOP-5 Russian Terminals’ Coal and Coke Throughput in 2020

    According to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service, the coal and coke throughput of all the Russian sea ports during 2020 amounted to 188.6 mn tons (+7.1%). It should be noted that coal and coke account for 23% of the total throughput.

    Vostochny Port is the leader in terms of coal and coke throughput with 26.8 mn tons, up 4.7% year-on-year.

    Rosterminalugol (Ust-Luga) saw its coal and coke traffic increase by 8.3% up to 26.5 mn tons.

    Daltransugol (Vanino) handled 23.2 mn tons, up 13% year-on-year.

    Coal and coke throughput via Murmansk Commercial Sea Port declined by 17.7% down to 13.1 mn tons.

    Coal Seaport Shakhtersk handled 10.7 mn tons (+22%).

    It should be noted that the highest coal and coke throughput growth was via Donskoy Port in Rostov-na-Donu, up 10.8-fold. Coal and coke traffic via Anadyr Sea Port increased 8.9-fold, and via Terminal-Sovgavan by 7.6-fold.

    The largest decrease in coal and coke traffic was in Vostokmorservice in Vladivostok (-90.2%), Arkhangelsk Sea Commercial Port (-82.7%) and Transcargo in Port Kavkaz (-78%).
